Holofil uses Pepper's ghost effect to create an illusion of floating 3D visuals in air inside the device to be able to see them as a 3D hologram.
In this image the bird is a 3D animation that is mapped to project inside the device and then it is flying around in the air around the physical objects like the bird, or the paper. This gives a feeling of a floating holographic effect and hence Holofil is considered a holographic video projection device.
