In the non-interactive mode, the visualization content is 3d modeled animations that are exported in mp4 format and played in a looped manner as a show-reel. If you know how to do 3d modeling / animations, you can create the content yourself. The content can be created in 3D modeling and animation softwares such as 3D studio max, maya, cinema4d, blender, keyshot, adobe creative suit (illustrator, after effects etc).

In the interactive mode, the 3d models are loaded in an android app that is bluetooth controlled using a controller to allow rotation, movements, zoom actions. You can load any 3d model in FBX, OBJ, DAE, 3DS, PLY  format with sufficiently high poly count based on the hardware support to interact in the HOLOFIL device. If the model does not load, chances are the poly-count is way higher, then reduce it and load the model again.

simple 3d text animations

Create your own 3D text animations using a simple 3D text animation creation software from us. You can use this for changing the content for product promotions, new deals, offers in HOLOFIL. If you know how to use Microsoft word you can use this software, it's that simple. 

scientific 3d data sets

Many scientific data sets are in 3D format and are perfectly suited to visualize in HOLOFIL. Use your scientific 3D data-sets to visualize in HOLOFIL by tuning them to fit into the device visualization requirements. Medical data-sets from MRI scans, CAT scans can also be tuned and visualized in HOLOFIL. The example here is from a laser microscopy data-set. You can use open-source softwares such as Image-J to load sliced datasets of imagery and then output animations that can be played in HOLOFIL. Or you softwares to output 3D models to use in HOLOFIL interactively. 

3d scanned objects

3D scan your 3D models to visualize them in HOLOFIL. We use consumer grade 3D scanners to do 3D scans and then animate them to create 3D visualizations to be presented in HOLOFIL. 3D scanning is very affordable and gives extreme flexibility to present your artifacts be it art, engineering objects, or any other physical object in a more realistic way to your audience. We can create customized 3D visualizations based on your requirements to create amazing user experiences. Here you see an example customized 3D visualization with micro-organism matter that is a part of a show-reel for show-casing different micro-organisms. The prices for this vary based on the complexity of the content creation.  

how to upload / play content in holofil 

HOLOFIL uses Android system. You can upload your 3D animation content on the Android tablet that comes with HOLOFIL, where it is played in a looped manner in a movie player in the device. The content upload steps are as below.

1. Connect your device to your computer using USB connectivity. Transfer the 3D animation content media files in mp4 / avi format on the predetermined directory on the Android tablet in the device. You can also download these files directly on the tablet using web connectivity and place them in the required directory. Now to test it you can load these files on the Android movie player and play them in a looped manner so the content repeats itself endlessly. 

2. The 3D visualization is programmed to start on the press of the device  power on button using the pre-programmed Android based software that picks up the mp4 / avi file from the destination directory in Android and starts playing it in the device automatically.

3. The device can be programmed using the scheduler to auto start and stop at predetermined times every day. When it starts it will start playing predetermined visual content automatically without any need to even touch the device every-day. HOLOFIL uses two power connections, so two extra digital timers can be added to control the power supply so that the power comes on and goes off at specific times every day. This way the device can be completely auto-programmed to start and stop on its own without being always power on which helps extend the life of the device.

4. Replace and play the newly uploaded 3D visualization content in a few easy steps by connecting the device with USB port to your computer. In the future we will also have cloud connectivity to push the content remotely so that you do not have to even connect your device to your computer through USB.

Now use the free Android 3D model viewer app to interact with your 3D models on smartphones with a touch interface. Load models in fbx, obj, stl, 3ds, ply, dae format and control their movement, rotation, animation, lighting, and background canvas color.

 

In the paid version (Euro 3.49) you can also export 360 degree turntable animations in various resolutions in mp4 format. Use free 3D models from Internet marketplaces to create the content that can be used directly in HOLOFIL or for other generic use cases. This is a version where you can use the Bluetooth controller to interact with your 3D models using wireless connectivity. Load models in fbx, obj, stl, 3ds, ply, dae format and control their movement, rotation, animation, lighting, and using the controller. This mode allows you to explain your 3D data to your visitors in an interactive way.
